Thirty-three washers, four sizes

Dexter Express front-loaders from 15 to 40 lb. Bring one hamper or bring the whole week — there is a drum sized for it, and enough of them that you are not waiting on a Saturday.

02 · Extract

The spin that saves you quarters

A high-extract spin drives most of the water out before the load ever reaches a dryer. Less water in means less time tumbling — and dryer time is the part you pay for by the minute.

$0.25 buys 4 min 9 sec · most loads finish on $1.00–$1.50

03 · Inside

Nothing here is worn out

Stainless drum, sealed bearings, a door seal that actually seals. Every machine on the floor is on a service log, and a machine that is down gets tagged and fixed — not left to eat your quarters.

Our story

Built for a town that works odd hours

Imperial Laundry Xpress sits on North Main Street because that is where people actually drive. We put in Dexter Express equipment for one reason: it is the machinery that holds up when a floor runs every hour of every day, and a machine that keeps running is a machine that never wastes your trip.

Shift work does not respect business hours. Neither do we — the doors are open at three in the morning, the lights are on, the cameras are running, and the lot is lit. Come when it suits you.

And if the last thing you want after a double is to sit and fold, leave the bag with us at $1.50 a pound and pick it up done.

Questions

Before your first trip

No — the self-serve floor is coin operated, and there is no coin changer on site yet, so please bring quarters with you. A coin changer and an ATM are being installed soon. To plan ahead: a $3.00 wash is twelve quarters, and a typical dry runs $1.00 to $1.50, so a single load is usually $4 to $5 in change.

Bring it if you have a favorite. If not, the vending machines by the front door carry single-load detergent, softener and dryer sheets — along with cold drinks and snacks for the wait. Bring quarters for those too. Use HE detergent in the front-loaders; regular soap over-suds and adds a rinse cycle. Wash & fold orders include detergent at no extra charge.

Dryers run on time, not on cycles: every $0.25 buys 4 minutes and 9 seconds, and you can keep adding while the drum turns. A standard load usually finishes on $1.00 to $1.50. Our high-extract washers spin most of the water out first, which is why that number is lower than you may be used to. There are 24 pockets on the floor — eight 30 lb stacks and eight singles — so you can spread a big wash across several at once.

That is exactly what the six 40 lb heavy-duty loaders are for. A king comforter, a mattress pad or a couple of sleeping bags fit in one at $5.00 a wash — far kinder to bedding than forcing it into a home machine. If they are all running, the 30 lb washers handle most bedding too.

The floor is open 24 hours and stays fully lit, with camera coverage across every aisle and a lit parking lot. An attendant is on site from 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM daily.

Flat $1.50 per pound, weighed on the counter scale in front of you before anything is washed — so you know the total up front. Most orders are ready the same day when dropped before noon, and we text you the moment your ticket is bagged.
